CLOSED CAMPUS LUNCH
Please note that that Adams High School follows a CLOSED CAMPUS LUNCH. Students are required to stay in the building during their lunch period. We understand that students must sometimes need to leave during lunch for appointments. If your student leaves during their lunch period or during the hours of 10:42-12:20, they will be marked absent in their 4th hour and will not be allowed to participate in their sport or extra-curricular activity for that day. Your students safety is always our priority. Thank you for your cooperation!

Parents/Guardians, PLEASE encourage your students to check the lost and found table outside the main office. Also, if your student has lost a phone, air pods, jewelry or any valuables please have them check with Deputy Bandur in the main office.
SPOTLIGHT ON INSTRUCTION
Featured Instructor: Mrs. Amy Limon
Recently Mrs. Limón’s Digital Art class had the chance to participate in a real-world art project and work with a client, Mr. Grant Vanderlaan from Oakland Townships Parks & Recreation Commission. It was requested that Adam’s Art students design T-Shirts for volunteers to wear while working at the park. T-Shirt designs were to include the Parks & Recreation logo, local flora and fauna and wildlife that is native to our area, and a neutral color theme. After much research and brainstorming to come up with ideas, students presented their design ideas to Mr. Vanderlaan & colleagues along with Principal Andrea Noel. Three student designs were chosen, among them a T-Shirt design by Makenna Luke, two other designs by Anna Stachura, and Priyamvada Arun will be used as stickers and patches. We are proud of the whole class and all their hard work.

In order to request an updated transcript, please have your student log in to Parchment (www.parchment.com) and send the transcript to the requesting college(s) using the “Order” option. 1st semester grades are posted at the end of January/beginning February, so if you’re making the Parchment request prior to the end of January , choose the “Hold for Grades” option. After the beginning of February, choose the “Send Now” option.

SENIORS: The 2026-27 FAFSA Form is Now Open
The 2026-27 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) form is now open at fafsa.gov. Completing the FAFSA form is a key to accessing federal, state, and institutional financial aid that can help cover the cost of college or career training.
VIRTUAL FINANCIAL AID PRESENTATION
Students and families looking for help paying for college can attend a virtual recording provided by MI Student Aid. Viewers will be able to gather information on the following financial aid topics: FAFSA application information, federal financial aid programs, state financial aid programs, and scholarship searching resources. SENIORS: College Application Info
Important Note: If your student is ready to submit his/her Common Application, he/she should not wait to submit based on any pending letters of recommendation or other supporting documentation. Students can submit their portion whenever they are done and ready.
Counselors met with seniors on September 4th to review transcripts and explain the college application process, including sending transcripts, test scores, and searching for scholarships. All details are posted in the AHS Class of 2026 Google Classroom, which will be updated throughout the year. Additional resources, including college applications, transcript ordering, and the Common App, are available on the Senior Weebly.
Individual Senior Meetings: Over the next few months, counselors will meet individually with seniors to discuss post-graduation plans and college applications. Students can also stop by the Counseling Office or email their counselor with questions anytime. We encourage seniors to take ownership of this process as they prepare for life after high school.
Transcripts: Students order transcripts via www.Parchment.com . At the September 4th meeting with counselors, students created an account.
NEW CAREER RESOURCE: Oakland80 Career And Education Navigator
Through grant funding we have Mr. Charles Hayes at Adams this year. He can provide extra guidance and support with the following:
- FAFSA completion & college exploration
- Exploring career options
- Finding the right trade school or apprenticeship program
- Navigating the military enlistment process
- Offering support for those who are unsure of their next steps
SOPHOMORES & JUNIORS: OSTC
For 10th & 11th grade students interested in a program at OSTC next school year, please see the attached flyer and see below for important dates. The online OSTC application is OPEN for the 26-27 school year and can be found at www.OSTConline.com and by clicking on the big, green “ENROLLMENT” tab. SOME programs fill up very quickly, so apply now!
WORK PERMITS
You can obtain a work permit in the counseling office as well as in the main office. Make sure to choose the appropriate form (there is a form for UNDER 16 and a separate form for 16 & 17 years old). Complete Section I, have your employer complete Section II, then bring it back to AHS to be completed. If a parent is bringing the form for their student, we will need a photo ID of the student in order to complete the work permit. Work permits are completed between the hours of 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Monday-Friday.

Adams Student Council is hosting the third annual Charity Clothes Drive this year. We request donations from the school community and from those donations we host a thrift store within the school to sell the clothes back to the community. All of the profits from the sold clothing, plus any leftover clothing will be donated to Oakland Hope. For more information, watch this video explaining their message here.

On Oct. 3, 2025, the Michigan legislature passed a state education budget that includes free breakfast and lunch at school through the Michigan School Meals program. Governor Whitmer signed the legislation as she previously expressed her support of the Michigan School Meals program.
Rochester Community Schools families will continue to offer free meals for ALL students on school days.
Daily menus and nutrition information are available at the food services page on the district website. Please follow the Nutrislice menu button.
Families in need are encouraged to complete an application to qualify for additional community resources and benefits.
Families who complete the Application for Summer EBT and Education Benefits for Michigan School Meals Program (formerly called the Free and Reduced-Price School Meals application), may be eligible for student benefits, discounts and waivers including: free pay-to-participate extracurricular activities and club fees; testing and college application fees; field trips, school activities, senior all-night parties, etc.; Operation School Bell and Assistance League of Southeastern Michigan; Rochester Area Youth Assistance; Fueling Kids’ Futures - One Meal at a Time, formerly Blessings in a Backpack; and other resources through charitable organizations.
A new application is required at the beginning of each school year.
Additionally, families in need should be aware of Fueling Kids’ Futures – One Meal at a Time, formerly Blessings in a Backpack, which is designed to help meet the nutritional needs of school-age children who participate in the Free or Reduced-Price School Meals program at school.
Each week during the school year, students enrolled in the program will receive a bag of non-perishable food items to take home on the weekends. Bags are dispensed in a discreet and caring manner. A friendly reminder, families will no longer be required to make appointments to have their Chromebook replaced! Everything can now be done in school, using our ticketing system, Incident IQ.

Why are we changing this process?
- Our current process requires all families to come to the Administration Building to swap their Chromebook out for a replacement device.
- This creates long delays for students to complete schoolwork at home
- Families need to make special arrangements to come to the Administration Building, usually resulting in them taking off work.
- Ongoing construction in front of the Administration Building causes confusion & frustration for families trying to get to their appointments
What will the new process look like?
- The student will bring their Chromebook to the Media Center for the TA to inspect for damage
- TA will determine if payment is needed to replace device
- In certain cases, an Elementary TA will swap the device at the building if no payment is needed.
- If payment is needed, an Incident IQ ticket will be created
- TA sends Chromebook to Help Desk @ Admin DQ
- Help Desk assess damage and contacts parent/guardian of damage and cost to replace
- Card Payment Preferred but cash or check option is available
- Once payment is made, Help Desk will send a replacement device to your buildings TA
- TA will receive the device and deliver the device to student/teacher
How will this new process help families & students receive the best support?
- Families will no longer have to make arrangements to come to the Administration Building
- Turnaround time will be faster for students.
FAQ
What will be happening to our appointment site?
- The appointment site will not be going away, I will be working with the site manager to update the site to now have a page to let them know of the new way to get their student’s device repaired.
Can appointments still be made to come to the Admin Building?
- Yes! Appointments will still be available on the same days of the week at the same times. We understand that parents/guardians prefer to come in person, rather than have everything done through email/on the phone. We also understand that some parents/guardians may have availability in their schedule to take care of this faster than the new workflow.
Will this process also work for students who need to purchase replacement chargers?
Yes! Your TA knows that students who need to purchase a replacement charger would require them to follow this workflow.

RAHCC RECRUITINGThe Rochester Auburn Hills Community Coalition (RAHCC) Youth Action Council is looking for middle and high school students to volunteer for community events all year long. Students will gain leadership skills, earn community service hours and help make a difference. The RAHCC supports mental health, builds awareness about substance misuse, and encourages healthy lifestyle choices through programming in the schools and throughout the community. The Coalition also awards a scholarship to deserving students. If interested, please send an email with your name, grade (in the fall) and school to:
