SENIORS: COLLEGE APP. INFO.
Counselors met with all seniors on Thursday, September 7th. Seniors were given their transcripts for review, and counselors explained the process for applying to college, sending transcripts, sending test scores, searching for scholarships, etc. All of the information is posted to the seniors’ AHS Class of 2024 Google Classroom. It is important for them to keep checking the Google Classroom for pertinent information, as we will post throughout the year. Additionally, detailed information for seniors regarding college applications, transcript ordering, the Common Application, and more can be found on the Senior Weebly.
Individual Senior Meetings: Counselors are in the process of meeting with each senior to discuss post-graduation plans, college applications, etc. Additionally, students are welcome to stop by the Counseling Office to ask questions or schedule a meeting with their counselor. During this season of post high school planning, students are encouraged to take ownership of the process/steps toward their future, as they will be navigating life on their own soon:)

WE ARE ON A ROLL!
Hello Highlanders!
Thank you to everyone who attended our meeting this week. We were able to approve several grants for a classroom set of whiteboards, materials for the Birthday wall, awards for the school-wide pumpkin decorating contest, a class set of reading materials and audio books for the ESL classroom and all students where English is not a primary language. We are going to re-name the PTSA Committee student co-chairs to avoid confusion. The new title will simply be "leadership." The reason we have a separate distinction is to identify students who will qualify for the PTSA graduation cord by implementing a project and volunteering for 3 years on PTSA committees. Students using their leadership hours on college or job applications can list the title as "Student Leader." Students are able to join PTSA committees at any time by contacting [email protected].

SENIOR YEARBOOK PORTRAITS
Dear Parents and Students of the Class of 2024,
All seniors for the class of 2024 will need to get their YEARBOOK PORTRAIT taken by Prestige Portraits. This service is provided free of charge and includes insertion in the yearbook and inclusion on the class composite.
If you missed the June and July dates at Adams, there is one more session for seniors at Adams High School on Saturday, October 21, 2023 from 9:30 AM – 4:00 PM in the media center!
You will have to schedule your sitting for this date using the following link:
https://schedule.prestigeportraits.com/schedule/home.html?MI&rochester
From the site, scroll to the bottom, and type in the state (Michigan), and the city (Rochester Hills) to begin the scheduling process. If you are unable to make this date, you will need schedule a personal sitting at a Prestige studio.
https://local.prestigeportraits.com
You can also call 517-349-1703 and then follow the prompts to schedule an appointment.
The special no-charge yearbook session will be available along with other sessions and upgrade options. If you do schedule your senior picture session, do so in the summer. All seniors should have their senior portraits taken by Saturday, November 11th. Once the photos are processed, students/parents must choose their preferred photo by November 25, 2023.
If a pose is not chosen by that date, the studio will choose a pose to be submitted. Prestige will then send the photo directly to Mr. Lovalvo.
Students and parents will still have the opportunity to go to their preferred choice of photographer, if it is not Prestige Portraits, for their other senior photos. While only the yearbook pose sitting fee is FREE OF CHARGE, Prestige will be offering significant discounts for other senior picture packages as well.
Please remember that this is a more formal section of the yearbook than the underclassmen photo section. Because of this, students need to dress up - shirt/tie/suit coat, collared shirt, dress, blouse, etc.
All clothing needs to meet these specifications and the RCS dress code policy in order to be included in the yearbook and on the class composite. If you (or your child) need help obtaining proper attire or need more information regarding attire, please contact Mr. Lovalvo at [email protected].
Students who do not get their yearbook photo taken with Prestige by the deadline will not appear in the senior section of the yearbook or the class composite.
If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Lovalvo at [email protected].

The District Chromebook Troubleshooting website is now live (See below). It has the most common problems that students are experiencing and how they can try to fix them. We are hoping that this will get students back to work a little quicker.
PLEASE NOTE: We have taken down the RCS Tech Support Ticket site. If a student needs help with their Chromebook, they should look at the troubleshooting site first. If they can’t fix it from the information on that page, they can make an appointment to swap out their Chromebook or they can call Technology Services (number is on the Troubleshooting page).

ROCHESTER MOUNTAIN
BIKING TEAM
Hello!
This is our final update on the Rochester Mountain Bike Team's historic 5th MiSCA season! We were thrilled to welcome RHS Principal Josh Wrinkle and BOE Trustee Barb Anness at the race on Sunday (if we missed anyone else, thank you so much for coming!). It was an amazing wrap-up to the season, as you'll see in the results below. Our team banquet is this Wednesday and we look forward to recognizing the achievements of all of our racers, including our first-ever Varsity State Champion, Katja Opfer. Thanks to all our coaches, parents, RCS staff, and the community at large for supporting the team this season!
