Dear Parents,
We are pleased to announce that parent-teacher conferences will be conducted through Zoom meetings again. Parents will have the ability to preschedule conferences in ParentVUE, rather than waiting in line to see a teacher.
The fall parent-teacher conferences are scheduled as follows:
Please use the attached quick start guide for instructions on scheduling your conferences. We are asking parents who are planning to attend conferences to schedule five-minute time slots with the teachers with whom they would like to speak. If a parent does not have any concerns or questions for their son or daughter’s teacher, they do not need to feel obligated to schedule appointments during that time. Also, if a parent feels their concern will require more time than the allotted five minutes, they are welcome to contact the teacher to set up a separate appointment.
Families will have the ability to schedule meetings beginning on September 29, up until the evening of conferences. If parents are planning to see multiple teachers, we recommend leaving 5-10 minutes between scheduled appointments to join the next meeting. In order to schedule appointments, it is important for parents to be able to successfully login to ParentVUE. You may use either the ParentVUE mobile app or visit https://rcsvue.rochester.k12.mi.us
If a parent is having difficulties with their ParentVUE login, they can email ParentVUE support at [email protected].

CLASS OF 2022
IMPORTANT SENIOR PICTURE INFORMATION
All seniors for the class of 2022 need to get their YEARBOOK PHOTO taken by Prestige Portraits. This service is provided free of charge and includes inclusion in the yearbook, as well as on the class composite. Students must have their yearbook photo taken by October 31, 2021 in studio (see address below). Once the photos are processed, students/parents must choose their preferred photo by November 15, 2021. If a pose is not chosen by that date, the studio will choose a pose to be submitted. Prestige will then send the photo directly to Mr. Lovalvo. There is nothing else that the student (or parent) needs to do in order to appear in the yearbook or on the class composite.
Students and parents will still have the opportunity to go to their preferred choice of photographer, if it is not Prestige Portraits, for their other senior photos. While only the yearbook pose sitting fee is FREE OF CHARGE, Prestige will be offering significant discounts for other senior picture packages as well.
Please remember that this is a more formal section of the yearbook than the underclassmen photo section. Because of this, students need to dress up - shirt/tie/suit coat, collared shirt, dress, blouse, etc. All clothing needs to meet these specifications and the RCS dress code policy in order to be included in the yearbook and on the class composite. If you (or your child) need help obtaining proper attire, need more information regarding attire, or need help with transportation to the studio, please contact Mr. Lovalvo at [email protected].
Please call 248-377-2444 or go online at https://bit.ly/PRESTIGE_OAKLANDTWP and make a senior portrait appointment as soon as possible. Although the deadline to be photographed is October 30, 2021, appointments fill quickly. Students who do not get their yearbook photo taken with Prestige by the deadline will not appear in the senior section of the yearbook.

COVID-19 PROTOCOLS
Dear RCS Families,
The Oakland County Health Division (OCHD) issued an Emergency Order (2021-01) for Control of Pandemic, which is effective immediately. The order states that daycares and educational institutions, to include pre-kindergarten through grade 12, are required to ensure all students, teachers, staff and community members consistently and properly wear facial coverings while inside a school building or structure, regardless of vaccination status. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) also requires masks to be worn on school buses.
We have received updated guidance from the Oakland County Health Division (OCHD) specific to extracurricular activities. It states that students, school employees, and volunteers participating in extracurricular activities/sports are required to wear masks while inside an educational institution.
The Oakland County Health Division (OCHD) mask order for schools will remain in effect until community transmission for Oakland County is categorized as “moderate” by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for at least 14 consecutive days or until further notice from the Oakland County Health Officer. Additionally, the CDC continues to require masks on buses. Rochester Community Schools is obligated to follow local, state, and federal emergency orders or the district could be subject to criminal and civil penalties.
RCS families are offered three choices for the safe education of their student: 1) wear a face mask while inside a school building; 2) observe an exemption while inside a school building; or 3) attend the RCS Virtual Campus. Parents or guardians of students who do not comply with the OCHD emergency order will be asked to pick their child up from school. When requirements on school buses are not met, parents or guardians will be asked to provide an alternate mode of transportation.
We are pleased that the OCHD is working to balance COVID-19 transmission risks with the impact of quarantine periods on student learning. The Oakland County Health Division (OCHD) provided updated school quarantine guidance on Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2021. An updated list of frequently asked questions is also available on our website.
*In the event that a student forgets their mask at home, staff members will offer the student a face covering.*

ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT
ATTENTION ALL ATHLETES FOR WINTER SPORTS!
All students who participate in any sport must have a physical filled out and turned in by the beginning of practices. We kindly ask that BOTH pages be filled out completely. Your student will not be able to participate in practices or games if we do not have the physical with all sections completed.
Please click here for the forms required by the MHSAA
Students also need to pay to participate for any sport they are in. This can found at the following link:

If you have any questions regarding the physical forms, please contact Amanda Elston in the athletics
office at (248) 726-5272 or at [email protected].
Please join us for upcoming sports events at Adams High School campus or away games.
