IMPORTANT!
CALL
THE ATTENDANCE LINE

If your child has an early dismissal please call the attendance line as early as possible in the day at 248-726-5310. This is an automated number that is checked continuously between 6:30am – 3:00pm.  Have your student pick up their pass in the morning, during passing time, or at lunch.  We do not deliver passes. However, we will deliver a pass if it is a last minute emergency.

Please feel free to utilize the PARENTVUE to report an absence (full day or partial day). Simply note in the COMMENT SECTION, the time of the early dismissal or late arrival.

If you do not call to report the early dismissal you will have to wait until one of our Safe-Ed Security interrupts the class to get the student which can take up to 15 minutes. Once the early dismissal is reported and the student has picked up their pass they are free to meet you in the pick-up loop.  You are not required to come into the building.

ALERT:
WATER FILLING STATIONS

Please be reminded that our main office does not provide water or cups unless it is an emergency.  Although, our drinking fountains are all turned off throughout the building, we do have several functioning water filling stations available for your students to get water from.  They need to bring a water bottle to school with them each day or a small six pack of bottled water each week. Remember, water is available for purchase during lunch periods in the school store and the vending machines.

SPOTLIGHT ON INSTRUCTION
Special Guest Teacher: Mr. Joshua Hickey

The students were presenting their Ancient Civilization projects for Big History.  They were tasked with researching the civilization and creating a poster and pamphlet outlining the major key aspects of that civilization.  There were also to bring in authentic food from that civilization for the class to try and create a game from that time period for their classmates to play.

                                                                2022-2023 SCHEDULING MEETINGS
Hello Adams Families!

Please see below for the dates when your student will be meeting with counselors regarding the scheduling process (choosing classes for next school year). We will be presenting to students in their English classrooms to pass out scheduling cards and discuss how to fill them out. Once students and families have completed their cards, they should turn them in to their English teachers. In addition, students are required to input their course requests into StudentVUE before they submit their cards to their teachers. For the final step of the process, Counselor Review, students will come down to the counseling office to meet with their counselor individually to go over their course requests together and ask any questions they may have.

All scheduling materials including our PowerPoint, with the exception of the scheduling card, can be found on Google Classroom. There is also a short video posted on Google Classroom explaining how to enter the courses into Synergy through StudentVue.

Looking forward to meeting with your students!

                       TECHNOLOGY  DEPARTMENT
Hello Parents and Students,

There are approximately 700 students across the district who do not have a device, out of the 14,700+ RCS enrollment.  A School Messenger went out today to each of these families to inform them of a deployment on Friday, March 4 at the Administration Center.  Please take advantage of this opportunity.  There is NO APPOINTMENT necessary – we will be issuing devices as they walk in between 7 a.m. – 5:45 p.m.  High school students can pick up their own device if they bring the Device Agreement Form already signed by their parents.

As always, parents can also make appointments on Tuesdays 7 a.m. – 3:50 p.m. through the link on RCS Technology Services website.  Call us directly at (248) 726-3191 if you wish to make special arrangements to reach some of those families who need special accommodations.
