SEMESTER 2 EXAMS
As with Semester 1 Exams, and with continued consideration by our district Curriculum team and feedback from our stakeholder groups, which included students, staff and parents, we have made the decision that there will be NO final exams for students to end semester 2. The schedule for June 8, 9, &10 will stay the same.
If your child has an early dismissal please call the attendance line as early as possible in the day at 248-726-5310. This is an automated number that is checked continuously between 6:30am – 3:00pm. Have your student pick up their pass in the morning, during passing time, or at lunch. We do not deliver passes. However, we will deliver a pass if it is a last minute emergency.
Please feel free to utilize the PARENTVUE to report an absence (full day or partial day). Simply note in the COMMENT SECTION, the time of the early dismissal or late arrival.
If you do not call to report the early dismissal you will have to wait until one of our Safe-Ed Security interrupts the class to get the student which can take up to 15 minutes. Once the early dismissal is reported and the student has picked up their pass they are free to meet you in the pick-up loop. You are not required to come into the building.

Please be reminded that our main office does not provide water or cups unless it is an emergency. Although, our drinking fountains are all turned off throughout the building, we do have several functioning water filling stations available for your students to get water from. They need to bring a water bottle to school with them each day or a small six pack of bottled water each week. Remember, water is available for purchase during lunch periods in the school store and the vending machines.
SPOTLIGHT ON INSTRUCTION
Special Guest Teacher: Ms. Anna Aliota
Currently, the students in AP Seminar are preparing for their last main presentation before the end of course test: The Individual Multimedia Presentation. Students were expected to create a research question based on an examination of source material, find additional information, and put together an argument. Next week, they will present their argument via presentation for scoring, and will be asked to verbally defend their position through a series of questions. The students have put in a lot of hard work over the last few weeks, and I am excited (and proud) to see their finished work.

GSA
On April 22nd, students participate in GLSEN’s Day of Silence. The GLSEN Day of Silence is a national student-led demonstration sponsored and led by GLSEN (The Gay, Lesbian, Straight Education Network) where LGBTQ+ students and allies all around the country—and the world—take a vow of silence to protest the harmful effects of harassment and discrimination against LGBTQ+ people in schools.
The symbolism of this demonstration is a sign of recognition and respect for the rights of those in the LGBTQ+ community, and it is demonstrated all day or a portion of the day—to whatever degree is most comfortable for participants.
The GSA at Adams is extremely happy to facilitate this important student movement and is always committed to promoting equality in our community.

As we get closer to the end of the year we look forward to all the exciting events for our students. Please consider donating time or items to our seniors for their all night party. They need underclassmen parents to help with the setup as well. This is also a great opportunity for grandparents and other family members to show some love to the Adams community! Signups can be found below in the SANP flyer. While you’re at it, please consider donating to the Honors Convocation afterglow: Honors Convocation Signup
We are celebrating our wonderful staff in May. They loved the last time we did notes of gratitude so we’re doing it again. Parents and students are encouraged to participate. Even if your favorite staff member has all slots full, send notes anyway – they will all be distributed! Notes of Gratitude Sign Up
