Note From Kim Kelly - PTSA President
Hello Highlanders! This time of year is always bittersweet for me – it’s an exciting time for everyone but as a parent it always reminds me how quickly time passes. These past two years have shown us how resilient and compassionate our community truly is and it was a bright spot in dark times. We wish our graduating Seniors the very best as they move on to this next phase in life. Since they have spent their lives being prepared by loving, dedicated families, educators, coaches and peers, I have no doubt they are ready for anything. I’d also like to thank our “graduating” parents, especially those who have spent years helping out with elementary, middle and high school PTSA committees and programs. Whether you chaired a committee, volunteered your time, donated items for programs or simply joined the PTSA at the beginning of the year, your contribution made a difference and you will be missed.
Our final PTSA meeting will be on Tuesday May 18 at 9:30 am via zoom. Please use the following link to join: PTSA Meeting. Agenda, Minutes and the Budget are posted on Membership toolkit under PTSA information. We will be approving the budget for next year, highlighting end of the year projects and have updates from counseling, admin and Student Council, as well as PTSA committees.
We are grateful for those of you who have volunteered for PTSA committees for next year! To explore opportunities or sign up, please contact Kate Bass at [email protected]. A few critical needs next year include a STEAM Committee Chair, Social Media (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter) and communications (updating the Membership Toolkit information). Every open position has different time requirements (monthly, yearly or one-time events) and some can be done at home.
We will be trying something new at Registration next year that we think will be a great way to show appreciation to our staff. When you join the PTSA and contribute to our One and Done Fundraiser, you will also have the option of purchasing a gift PTSA membership for a staff member for $5. Our goal is to start the year off right by gifting all teachers with membership so they can access funds for teacher grants throughout the year. As always, thank you for your support!
