SPOTLIGHT ON INSTRUCTION
Special Guest: Dr. Jenell Kelly
Adams High School and Rochester High School Interior Design classes took a joint field trip to Oakland University to experience a guided tour of Meadow Brook Hall. Students had a great time learning about the history of the Tudor Revival style house and exploring the interior design, including original 1930s furnishings and décor. We wrapped up the field trip with a self-guided tour of the exterior and grounds of Meadow Brook Hall. It was an awesome opportunity to extend what we learned about design and architectural styles this semester. Thank you to parents and the RCS District for supporting our field trip!

Course Request Update for 2023-2024:
If students would like to adjust their initial course requests for the 2023-2024 school year, they must complete the form on their Google Classroom. The last date to complete the change request form is Sunday, May 28th at 5 pm. There is NO GUARANTEE that we will be able to change their initial requests due to the constraints of the master schedule. Course requests will not be altered until after the consideration period closes and the team has had an opportunity to review all requests. This process may take a couple weeks, but all approved changes will be completed before summer break. Students should check StudentVue the last week of school to see if their request was approved.
Summer Credit Recovery:
For students who have failed required courses, credit recovery courses via the Summer Learning Program are free this summer! Please contact your counselor to ensure you are signing up for the necessary course(s). Information and registration is here: https://rcs.digitalsignup.com/
PSAT/SAT Scores:
In order to view PSAT or SAT scores, students must create their account with College Board HERE. Counselors do not have access to students’ scores or account information. If students are unable to access scores via the College Board website, they should call College Board. The number for PSAT is 888-477-7728, and the number for SAT is 866-756-7346. Once students have a College Board account, they are able to link that account with Khan Academy for free, targeted SAT practice. The steps to linking those accounts are HERE.
JUNIORS: College Information:
Interested students can access a College Tip Sheet HERE with information regarding the college application process. On June 1st, counselors will visit juniors to discuss this information.
SENIORS: College App. Info.
Seniors will need to send final transcripts to the college they’re going to attend. In order to request transcripts, please have your student log in to Parchment (www.parchment.com) and send their transcript to their college using the Order option. They need to choose “Hold for Grades” rather than “Send Now.”
Information for SENIORS regarding college applications, transcripts, Common App., and more is found on the seniors’ Google Classroom and the Senior Weebly.
Work Permits:
You can obtain a work permit in the counseling office as well as in the vestibule outside of the main office.
Make sure to choose the appropriate form (there is a form for UNDER 16 and a separate form for 16 & 17 years old).
Complete Section I, have your employer complete Section II, then bring it back to AHS to be completed. If a parent is bringing the form for their student, we will need a photo ID of the student in order to complete the work permit. Work permits are completed between the hours of 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Monday-Friday.

PLEASE NOTE: We have taken down the RCS Tech Support Ticket site. If a student needs help with their Chromebook, they should look at the troubleshooting site first. If they can’t fix it from the information on that page, they can make an appointment to swap out their Chromebook or they can call Technology Services (number is on the Troubleshooting page).
