Course Request Update for 2023-2024:
Administrators are currently using course request data to determine staffing and build the master schedule. Therefore, no changes can be made to course requests at this time. There will be a window of time in May where students can request a course change for next year. Those requests will be considered on a case by case basis. More information will follow later this month.
AP EXAM TAKERS & PARENTS!
Dear Families of AP testers,
AP exams will take place beginning on Monday May 1st and will run through Friday May 12th. Students should have already purchased their exams during the fall or spring registration period. AP Teachers will provide information to students regarding testing locations, seat number, arrival time, etc. All AHS students will be taking their tests at ADAMS HIGH SCHOOL this year. Test takers will be excused from school for the entire day. Parents do not need to report an absence. However, if your student does not take the exam, the excused absence will be canceled.
Any questions about Adams’ AP exams should be directed to students’ AP teachers or to the counseling office.
We wish all of our testers the best of luck!
JUNIORS: COLLEGE INFORMATION:
Interested students can access a College Tip Sheet HERE with information regarding the college application process. In late May or early June, counselors will visit junior classrooms to discuss this information.
SENIORS: COLLEGE APP. INFO.
Seniors will need to send final transcripts to the college they’re going to attend. In order to request transcripts, please have your student log in to Parchment (www.parchment.com) and send their transcript to their college using the Order option. They need to choose “Hold for Grades” rather than “Send Now.”
Information for SENIORS regarding college applications, transcripts, Common App., and more is found on the seniors’ Google Classroom and the Senior Weebly.
WORK PERMITS
You can obtain a work permit in the counseling office as well as in the vestibule outside of the main office.
Make sure to choose the appropriate form (there is a form for UNDER 16 and a separate form for 16 & 17 years old).
Complete Section I, have your employer complete Section II, then bring it back to AHS to be completed. If a parent is bringing the form for their student, we will need a photo ID of the student in order to complete the work permit. Work permits are completed between the hours of 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Monday-Friday.
