PSAT/SAT Scores:
In order to view PSAT or SAT scores, students must create their account with CollegeBoard HERE. Counselors do not have access to students’ scores or account information. Once students have a CollegeBoard account, they are able to link that account with Khan Academy for free, targeted SAT practice. The steps to linking those accounts are HERE.
JUNIORS: College Information:
Counselors met with juniors on June 1st to share information about post high school planning, including the college application process. The presentation can be found HERE. The Student Profile Sheet is HERE; the Parent Response Form is HERE; and the College Application Tip Sheet is HERE.
SENIORS: College App. Info.
Seniors will need to send final transcripts to the college they’re going to attend. In order to request transcripts, please have your student log in to Parchment (www.parchment.com) and send their transcript to their college using the Order option. They need to choose “Hold for Grades” rather than “Send Now.”
Information for SENIORS regarding college applications, transcripts, Common App., and more is found on the seniors’ Google Classroom and the Senior Weebly.
Work Permits:
You can obtain a work permit in the counseling office as well as in the vestibule outside of the main office.
Make sure to choose the appropriate form (there is a form for UNDER 16 and a separate form for 16 & 17 years old).
Complete Section I, have your employer complete Section II, then bring it back to AHS to be completed. If a parent is bringing the form for their student, we will need a photo ID of the student in order to complete the work permit. Work permits are completed between the hours of 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Monday-Friday.
CLASS OF 2024 SENIOR YEARBOOK PORTRAITS
Dear Parents and Students of the Class of 2024,
All seniors for the class of 2024 will need to get their YEARBOOK PORTRAIT taken by Prestige Portraits. This service is provided free of charge and includes insertion in the yearbook and inclusion on the class composite.
New this year, Prestige will be offering a special In-School No Charge yearbook session on June 26-27 and July 24-25. You will receive communication from Prestige in the weeks prior to the photography event detailing your scheduled appointment. Please use the unique personal appointment code that you will receive to confirm or reschedule your appointment.
To schedule an in-studio senior session, visit https://local.prestigeportraits.com/. The special no-charge yearbook session will be available along with other sessions and upgrade options. If you do schedule your senior picture session, do so in the summer. All seniors should have their senior portraits taken by Saturday, November 11th. Once the photos are processed, students/parents must choose their preferred photo by November 25, 2023.
If a pose is not chosen by that date, the studio will choose a pose to be submitted. Prestige will then send the photo directly to Mr. Lovalvo.
Students and parents will still have the opportunity to go to their preferred choice of photographer, if it is not Prestige Portraits, for their other senior photos. While only the yearbook pose sitting fee is FREE OF CHARGE, Prestige will be offering significant discounts for other senior picture packages as well.
Please remember that this is a more formal section of the yearbook than the underclassmen photo section. Because of this, students need to dress up - shirt/tie/suit coat, collared shirt, dress, blouse, etc.
All clothing needs to meet these specifications and the RCS dress code policy in order to be included in the yearbook and on the class composite. If you (or your child) need help obtaining proper attire or need more information regarding attire, please contact Mr. Lovalvo at [email protected].
Students who do not get their yearbook photo taken with Prestige by the deadline will not appear in the senior section of the yearbook or the class composite.
If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Lovalvo at [email protected].

Hello Highlanders and Future Highlanders!
The end of the school year is always a little bittersweet because, even as we get excited about summer plans, every school year seems to go more quickly than the last. We are incredibly fortunate to have the amazing teachers, ancillary staff and administration that we do at Adams and our kids are in great hands. Please consider taking a moment to send an email or note to a favorite staff member – just a few kind words can mean so much.
Looking to next year, if you’re interested in helping out with our Gold Rush community tailgate, we meet once over the summer to finalize details and can use help securing vendors, signing up volunteers and setting up. Please email [email protected] if you’d like to be involved. With gratitude to our “retiring” board members Kate Bass and Cherie Ugorowski, we welcome our new members Lauren Bower and Alisa Hauberg. Our first meeting next year will begin with a community coffee and end with a school tour. Details will be available in our newsletters so please register your email on our Membership Homepage.
Have a wonderful, safe and healthy summer with your family and we look forward to seeing you next year!
Your Adams PTSA Executive Board: Kim Kelly, Teri Myers, Lisa Degrieck, Lauren Bower and Alisa Hauberg

SOCIAL JUSTICE CLUB
June 1st officially marks the first day of "Pride," month that is an annual month-long observance of LGBTQ+ history, the history of gay rights, and related civil rights movements. LGBTQ+ Pride Month was created originally as a celebration each year in June to honor the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan. The first Pride march in New York City was held on June 28, 1970, on the first anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising. President Bill Clinton officially declared June as Gay and Lesbian Pride Month in 2000 and President Barack Obama expanded the observance in 2011 to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month.
Today, celebrations include pride parades, picnics, parties, workshops, symposia, and concerts. LGBTQ+ Pride Month events attract millions of participants around the world. In Michigan, we in Rochester are also fortunate to have an annual pride celebration each year. It is also common for memorials to be held during this month for those members of the community who have been lost to hate crimes or HIV/AIDS.
Pride Month is a time for people to feel pride and love within themselves, as well as celebrate those in their lives who have been supportive of them. Pride is also a time for us to reflect on the progress we've made towards LGBTQ+ equality and to acknowledge the fact that we stand on the shoulders of all those who have fought so hard over the years to achieve this. It is also a time for us to acknowledge that we still have so much more to do. The GSA wishes everyone a very happy Pride month and is always educating, advocating, and supporting the LGBTQ+ community and allies.

PLEASE NOTE: We have taken down the RCS Tech Support Ticket site. If a student needs help with their Chromebook, they should look at the troubleshooting site first. If they can’t fix it from the information on that page, they can make an appointment to swap out their Chromebook or they can call Technology Services (number is on the Troubleshooting page).
