PARENT LOOP - DROP OFF/PICK UP PROCEDURES
Hello Highlander Families!
Please take a look at the attached diagram (below) for a visual reference. This map is provided by our Administration about Drop Off/Pick up Loop information. To ensure the safety of students and staff, drop off and pick up is not permitted in the auditorium or athletic parking lots. Our hope is that all students and parents arrive and depart safely each school day. Thank you for your partnership in this area.

RCS CALENDAR
PROCESS FOR EARLY DISMISSAL AND LATE ARRIVAL
Open ParentVUE and click on the blue button next to your student’s picture to Report Absence. Enter the date and click "Select A Reason." In the NOTE section state “late arrival” or “early dismissal." Please include the time your student is leaving.
EARLY DISMISSAL: Once you submit the information in ParentVUE it is instantly sent to the attendance office and Mrs. Roehl prints a pass for your student to pick up. After the student has picked up the pass, they will show it to their teacher to leave class for an early dismissal, proceed to the main office with the pass, and sign out of the building. UPDATED RESOURCE
The Pathfinder Resource Page is an online resource provided by a partnership between the Michigan Department of Education and the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity.
Resources on this page include:
SENIORS: College Application Info
Counselors will meet with seniors on September 2nd to review transcripts and explain the college application process, including sending transcripts, test scores, and searching for scholarships. All details will be posted in the AHS Class of 2027 Google Classroom, which will be updated throughout the year. Additional resources, including college applications, transcript ordering, and the Common App, will be available on our Senior Weebly.
Individual Senior Meetings: Over the next few months, counselors will meet individually with seniors to discuss post-graduation plans and college applications. Students can also stop by the Counseling Office or email their counselor with questions anytime. We encourage seniors to take ownership of this process as they prepare for life after high school.
Transcripts: Students order transcripts via www.Parchment.com . At the September 2nd meeting with counselors, students will create an account.
WORK PERMITS
You can obtain a work permit in the counseling office as well as in the main office. Make sure to choose the appropriate form (there is a form for UNDER 16 and a separate form for 16 & 17 years old). Complete Section I, have your employer complete Section II, then bring it back to AHS to be completed. If a parent is bringing the form for their student, we will need a photo ID of the student in order to complete the work permit. SENIOR UPDATES
Re: Yearbook Portrait
Dear Parents and Seniors of the Class of 2027,
The 3rd and final session is on Saturday, October 24th, 2026 - 8:30am-4:00pm. Use the following link to schedule your appointment:
Click here to schedule your In-School Senior Portrait appointment
All seniors for the class of 2027 will need to get their YEARBOOK PORTRAIT taken by Kaiser Studio. This service is provided free of charge and includes insertion in the yearbook and inclusion on the class composite. Also, these photos are placed in the Adams High School Honors Convocation and Graduation Programs.
Kaiser Studio will be offering special In-School No Charge yearbook sessions in the Adams Media Center. Communications have already been sent to you by Kaiser Studio to the photography event detailing your scheduled appointment. Please follow the instructions to schedule your appointment.
If the scheduled in-person dates do not work out for your senior, you will need to arrange a time to go to the studio no later than November 23, 2026. There is a $30 in-studio sitting fee for this service. Please make that appointment sooner than later as most schools in our area have similar deadlines and appointment times may be limited.
Any student not photographed by November 23, 2026 will NOT be included in the senior section of the yearbook.
Once the photos are processed, students/parents will have the ability to choose their preferred photo online by November 22, 2026, and then Kaiser will send the digital file to Adams High School for inclusion in the yearbook, the graduation video, and the class composite. There is nothing else that the student (or parent) needs to do.
If no photo is chosen, the studio will select one and that photo will appear in the yearbook, on the class composite, and for honors convocation and graduation.
To schedule an in-studio senior session, visit Click here to schedule a Senior Portrait Session at Kaiser Studio. The special no-charge yearbook session will be available along with other sessions and upgrade options.
Students and parents can choose to go to a preferred choice of photographer, if it is not Kaiser, for their other senior photos. While only the yearbook pose sitting fee is FREE OF CHARGE, Kaiser will be offering significant discounts for other senior picture packages as well.
Please know that this is a more formal section of the yearbook than the underclassmen photo section. Because of this, seniors need to dress up - shirt/tie/suit coat, collared shirt, dress, blouse, etc.
All clothing needs to meet these specifications and the RCS dress code policy to be included in the yearbook and on the class composite. If you (or your child) need help obtaining proper attire or need more information regarding attire, please contact Mr. Lovalvo at [email protected].
Students who do not get their yearbook photo taken with Kaiser by the deadline will not appear in the senior section of the yearbook or the class composite, and will not have a formal picture for graduation and the honors convocation.
If you have any questions or would like to book a session in studio, you can contact customer service at 248-619-9119 or email [email protected]. The studio address is 1825 Birchwood Drive Troy, MI 48083.

A friendly reminder, families will no longer be required to make appointments to have their Chromebook replaced! Everything can now be done in school, using our ticketing system, Incident IQ.
Why are we changing this process?
What will the new process look like?
How will this new process help families & students receive the best support?
FAQ
What will be happening to our appointment site?
Can appointments still be made to come to the Admin Building?
Will this process also work for students who need to purchase replacement chargers?
Yes! Your TA knows that students who need to purchase a replacement charger would require them to follow this workflow.
Please note that this process is brand new for everyone, so there will be some growing pains. If you or your building staff notice anything that may need to be tweaked or if you have any questions, please reach out to myself or Lynn ([email protected])
Why are we changing this process?
- Our current process requires all families to come to the Administration Building to swap their Chromebook out for a replacement device.
- This creates long delays for students to complete schoolwork at home
- Families need to make special arrangements to come to the Administration Building, usually resulting in them taking off work.
- Ongoing construction in front of the Administration Building causes confusion & frustration for families trying to get to their appointments
What will the new process look like?
- The student will bring their Chromebook to the Media Center for the TA to inspect for damage
- TA will determine if payment is needed to replace device
- In certain cases, an Elementary TA will swap the device at the building if no payment is needed.
- If payment is needed, an Incident IQ ticket will be created
- TA sends Chromebook to Help Desk @ Admin DQ
- Help Desk assess damage and contacts parent/guardian of damage and cost to replace
- Card Payment Preferred but cash or check option is available
- Once payment is made, Help Desk will send a replacement device to your buildings TA
- TA will receive the device and deliver the device to student/teacher
How will this new process help families & students receive the best support?
- Families will no longer have to make arrangements to come to the Administration Building
- Turnaround time will be faster for students.
FAQ
What will be happening to our appointment site?
- The appointment site will not be going away, I will be working with the site manager to update the site to now have a page to let them know of the new way to get their student’s device repaired.
Can appointments still be made to come to the Admin Building?
- Yes! Appointments will still be available on the same days of the week at the same times. We understand that parents/guardians prefer to come in person, rather than have everything done through email/on the phone. We also understand that some parents/guardians may have availability in their schedule to take care of this faster than the new workflow.
